DUMMY DATE. The Green Mermaid (a coffehouse/café) was located on the floor directly below The Upstage. Both venues were owned and operated by Tom and Margaret Potter. Springsteen is known to have performed acoustic sets here as far back as early 1968. The poster below is believed to be from the same time period as the electric band jams that were taking place upstairs at this time.
