ONE show, a “Battle Of The Bands” extravaganza held in the gymnasium, featuring a dozen groups, each playing a couple of songs. THE CASTILES, who by mid-1968 were considered respected veterans within the local rock scene, were guest judges (not contestants) and also performed to close the show. Although the year on the ticket stub is blotted out, a brief mention of the event in the Long Branch newspaper confirms this as 1968.
